I am in Beijing to study chinese during 6 weeks. We are lucky with the weather because
since i have arrived, we have the sun. The temperature are the same than in Switzerland
in winter.
This week the city start to empty; most of the people are going back in their family to
celebrate the chinese new year.
The school will be close during one week and for us it will have the opportunity to discover
how they celebrate.
I have chosen the live in a family host and it is a good way to see how they live and the
share the day by day. I also discover the excellent chinese food, the beauty of the temple.
At this time there are not much students. We are only 6. Most of the students come in
Beijing in summer.
If you come here, don t forget the take your city guide ( lonely planet ...) because you
can find some english bookshops but it is very difficult to get information, impossible
de get a bus line info or to get a map of Beijing subway. There are no tourist information
center in town.
Subway: 13 lines, very cheap, easy to go everywhere and it is also written in english.
Global exchange: we have young teacher, very patient and they are always here when
we need to get information or help. They also teach us many things about China,
about what chinese people like to do, what they eat and so and so..Coming here is a
good experience, a good way to learn more about China.
